For a classic e-shop: why combine live sales with your own e-shop

Live sales are not a replacement for a classic e-shop, but an additional sales channel. We will show you how to connect broadcasting with a shared warehouse, orders, and customers so that you don't have to rewrite anything.

If you already have an e-shop, products, customers and shipping, you don't need a second system, but an additional sales channel. For a classic e-shop, live sales with your own e-shop make the most sense: each broadcast will bring people to one store with a common warehouse, orders and customers. In this guide, you will see how it works, what are the purchase methods and how to get started in six steps.

What is live sales connected to your own e-shop?

Live sales linked to your e-shop means that orders from your broadcast (comment with a code, message in Messenger, cart in the player) are created directly in your e-shop, not in a spreadsheet or in your inbox. Everything is in one place and you don't have to rewrite anything after the broadcast.

The difference compared to live sales "on the side" is fundamental. With the connected model you have:

  • one catalog of products and variants,
  • one warehouse , which is deducted from both live and web,
  • one list of orders with statuses and filters,
  • one customer account with invoices and package tracking.

The text is intended for e-shop owners who already have everything they need and want to add a channel without building a second system. An overview of the features can be found on the NexusShop page for classic e-shop .

Why an e-shop alone is no longer enough for today's sales

The e-shop is waiting to be visited. Your customers spend time on social networks, and live sales reach them where they are already. You don't have to convince them to open another page, they come themselves via a link or directly via the broadcast.

Live also shows what a product card can't. You can hold the product in your hand, explain the material, size, or use, and answer questions right away in the chat. The customer can better imagine what they're buying.

Broadcasting is also a reason to come back. You can send a reminder in Messenger, post a recording or announce a new product. This way, the e-shop will no longer be a place that just waits.

As a reference for the platform, we present figures from reference sellers' stores: 61,000+ orders from live and 1.5 million comments processed . This is not a promise of results for your store, but a demonstration that the system can handle real-world traffic. How comments turn into orders is described in Live sales from comments .

Four ways for a customer to buy from live in your e-shop

The customer doesn't have to search for a button or fill out a long form. NexusShop supports four paths, all ending in the same e-shop:

  1. Purchase code in the comment. The customer writes a code with your prefix (for example, NX 88) under a live or post on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Turbo Automat recognizes the code and creates an order.
  2. Code in the message. The same code works in Messenger or Instagram Direct, and the customer can also type the word CHECKOUT for a link to their cart.
  3. Cart directly in the player. On your own NexusLive stream on your website, it will add the product to the cart below the video. This module is in beta mode and we are opening it to tenants gradually.
  4. Purchase from recording. Clicking on a product in the timeline will rewind the video to the moment where you introduced it.

The result is the same: the order is created in your e-shop, the customer has an account, invoices and package tracking. You can set the codes according to the instructions for product codes in the comments .

One warehouse, one orders, no rewriting

The biggest time saver is that nothing is overwritten. Stock is deducted in real time from both live and web. The last piece is sold exactly once, other orders go into reservations and wait for stock to be replenished.

Practical example: you have one handbag in black. A customer orders it by commenting on live and a moment later someone adds it to the cart on the website. The system assigns it to the first order and the second one ends up in reservations, so there is no double sale.

What else will the system do for you:

  • Orders from comments, from the web, and manually created orders are in one list with statuses and filters.
  • Payments by card via Stripe, bank transfer or cash on delivery.
  • A PDF invoice is automatically generated upon payment, with a link to SuperInvoice.
  • Shipping : zones, price lists, GLS labels with one click and shipment tracking for the customer.

Moreover, we do not take anything from orders: you only pay rent, no commission. Details can be found in the sections warehouse and shipping and orders, payments and invoices . The differences in practice are also described in the article about warehouse in live sales .

NexusLive's own stream: shopping without leaving the website

NexusLive will receive the image from OBS (RTMP) or from the browser and phone (WHIP). It will send the same stream to your website and simultaneously restream to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. You broadcast once, collect viewers in multiple places.

The viewer on your website sees a pinned product with a price, selects a variant (size, color) and adds it to the cart below the video. You have the choice of cart mode (pay once at the end) or instant purchase . Both modes are in beta.

This includes chat, pinned comments, polls, and subtle notifications that someone has just purchased. The moderator has everything in the control room: products, comments, banners, effects, and settings. Clicking on Introduce pins the product to the audience and records a timestamp that will later be used to create a recording and clips.

Important note: TikTok is the target of the restream. Orders from TikTok comments are not processed by the system, so direct viewers there to your website. You can find out more about the studio on the NexusLive self-streaming page and purchase during live on the e-shop . How to broadcast to multiple platforms at once, restream live explains.

Sales continue after the broadcast ends

In classic live sales, the end of the broadcast means the end of the sale. In a connected e-shop, it's the opposite.

  • The automatic recording is saved, processed for the web and published on your e-shop with products on the timeline. You do not record or edit anything. A customer who missed the live event clicks on the product and the video jumps to the exact moment of the performance. So the recording continues to sell even after the broadcast.
  • Product videos and reels are created from cut clips and can be used on social media.
  • Messenger message after the live ends: send a recording to everyone who participated, remind them of unfinished baskets, and announce the next broadcast.

If you want to sell outside Slovakia, the e-shop works in 10 languages and each language version has its own SEO with hreflang. Check out live recordings , automatic product videos and multilingualism . For ideas on how to use the recording, see the article live recording as sales content .

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to leave my current e-shop if I want to start live sales?

No. Live sales is an additional channel, not a replacement. You import your catalog from CSV, XLSX or XML and the new e-shop runs alongside your current store. You share products, inventory, orders and customers, so you don't need a second system.

What happens if a product that people are currently ordering sells out during a broadcast?

The stock is counted in real time, so the last piece is sold exactly once. Other orders go into reservations and wait for the stock to be replenished. The customer gets an explanation instead of silence, and you can fulfill the reservation in one step after stocking.

Does NexusShop take commission on live sales orders?

No. You only pay for the platform rental, no commission on orders. The package price includes hosting, updates, backups and support. You can choose from the Start, Professional and Enterprise packages and try it for 7 days free without a credit card.
