For live sellers: how to start selling online without a programmer

A practical guide on how to build your own e-shop, orders, warehouse and invoices as a live seller without a programmer and without rewriting comments. We'll go through five steps and a simple plan for the first week.

Are you already selling via live or posts, but you still copy orders from comments into a notebook and postpone your e-shop because "you need a programmer for that"? This guide is for live sellers: how to start selling online without a programmer . We'll show you five steps from catalog to invoices and a simple plan for the first week. You can do everything with clicks, not code.

What it means to start selling online without a programmer

Selling online without a programmer means using a rented platform where your e-shop, orders, warehouse, shipping, and invoices work right out of the box. You build your pages by clicking in the editor, not by coding, and you don't develop anything custom. You pay the rent, the rest is ready.

For live sellers, it is crucial to link comments and messages directly to your e-shop. A spreadsheet or Excel is just an intermediate step that takes time and makes for errors. In live sales, the customer writes the product code from the comments and the order is created directly in your e-shop, not in a workbook.

What changes compared to manual transcription:

  • the order is created in the e-shop, not in a chat or table,
  • The stock is deducted automatically and you sell the last piece exactly once,
  • The customer receives the payment in Messenger and the invoice is issued after payment.

Renting instead of custom development is also important. Hosting, updates, backups and support are included in the price and you don't pay commission on orders, just a monthly rental. You can find an overview of the packages in the price list and everything you get on the What you get in a rental page.

What you really need before launching (and what you don't)

You don't need much to get started. Just prepare a few things:

  • products with photos, prices and quantities in stock,
  • a social network account where you already broadcast,
  • deciding on the purchase code prefix (for example, NX) that customers will write before the product number.

What you don't need: your own server, programmer, graphic designer or integration development. You create your e-shop in the editor by dragging blocks and connecting to Facebook, Instagram or YouTube is part of the platform.

There is one fundamental change in thinking: the order is not created in a chat or in a spreadsheet, but directly in your e-shop. The customer just writes the code in the comment, the system does the rest.

The recommended approach is moderate. First, create a simple catalog and one test broadcast, then expand. You can try the first 7 days for free without a credit card , so you don't risk anything. The How it works page explains how it all works .

Step 1: Fill in the catalog from a photo, Excel or from a supplier

The biggest obstacle to getting started is manually creating products. AI product creation eliminates this. You upload a photo, take a picture of the product with your browser camera, scan a barcode or enter the supplier's URL. AI will suggest a name, description, category, attributes and variants .

Each product and variant is given a code (SKU and code for live orders). You can then edit the proposed data in the product editor , where the health score will show whether the card is complete.

Do you already have a larger assortment? Use import from CSV, XLSX or XML . You map columns to fields in the system and in case of an error, the import can be rolled back.

Practical tip: name the variants consistently , i.e. size and color. The customer writes a code in the comment and the system recognizes the specific variant based on it. How to set the codes so that the system always recognizes them is discussed in the article Product codes in comments .

Step 2: Build your own e-shop in the template editor

The visual editor is the core of an e-shop without a programmer. You drag blocks such as hero, product carousels, video, live stream and categories onto the canvas and immediately check the preview for desktop, tablet and mobile . You can find a detailed procedure in the article E-shop Template Editor: How to Build a Store Without a Programmer .

You can change the appearance through themes and skins. The skin changes colors without losing content, has a preview before activation and can be returned in one click. The e-shop also includes its own domain with HTTPS, a blog and CMS pages. The editor also has a live stream section connected to NexusLive.

Set up operation right after appearance:

  1. Payments : card via Stripe, bank transfer, cash on delivery.
  2. Transport : transport zones and price lists, or free transport above a certain amount.
  3. VAT : according to the country of delivery.

You can find more about the entire store on the page Custom e-shop with template editor .

Step 3: Turn on orders from comments and Messenger checkout

Now comes the part that saves the most time. Turbo Automat reads comments under the live video, recognizes the code and variant, creates an order in the e-shop, deducts the stock and sends the customer payment to Messenger. It can handle hundreds of comments per minute. For details, see the article Turbo Automat: what happens with thousands of comments per minute .

The customer can purchase in four ways:

  • code in the comment under the live or post,
  • code in a message in Messenger or Instagram Direct,
  • cart and checkout on NexusLive,
  • purchase from the record.

The customer receives an order summary with a button to complete. If the system does not recognize it, they will receive a short form with the address and phone number. The data is saved and the next purchase goes without questions. The step-by-step procedure is described in the instructions for Messenger checkout with product code , more about automation can be found in the Messenger and Instagram automation section.

Sold out items go into reservations and wait for replenishment of the warehouse. For an unknown code, the customer will receive an explanation instead of silence. To avoid typical failures, see the most common errors when ordering from the comments .

Step 4: Broadcast and sell on your own e-shop

NexusLive receives the image from OBS (RTMP) or from the browser and phone (WHIP), distributes it to viewers and simultaneously restreams it to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok . How to broadcast to multiple networks at once is described in the article Restream live: how to broadcast to 4 platforms at once .

The moderator has everything in the control room: products with order, a feature button (pins the product and writes a timestamp), comments, polls, and banners. That timestamp will come in handy later when recording.

Important notes to avoid promising more than the system delivers:

  • The cart in the player on your own e-shop is in beta mode and is being gradually rolled out to tenants. It is described on the page Purchasing during live on your own e-shop .
  • Comments from TikTok do not turn into orders. Orders from comments run on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. The article TikTok live sales in the EU discusses the real possibilities.

For larger broadcasts, DOMINO will help with live start and end automation and LIVE Manager PRO for tracking comments and orders in real time.

Step 5: It doesn't end after live – warehouse, shipping, invoices and records

After the broadcast, the work doesn't end, it just becomes automated. The stock is deducted in real time, so you sell the last piece exactly once. This includes receipts, expenses, inventory and supplier records. How to avoid selling goods you don't have, shows the article on stock in live sales .

Shipping works through zones and price lists, you print GLS labels directly from the order and the customer can see the shipment tracking in the account. A PDF invoice is automatically generated upon payment, with templates, number ranges and a link to SuperInvoice.

However, the greatest value is often provided by the recording. After the broadcast , a recording with the products is created on the timeline . The customer clicks on the product and the video rewinds to the moment when you were showing it. This way, sales continue even after the live. Product videos and reels can be created from the clips. How to make the most of the recording is explained in the article Recording from a live sale: how to turn it into sales content .

How to schedule your first week: a simple plan

To avoid getting stuck in the setup, stick to a realistic seven-day plan:

  1. Day 1–2: create a trial account, populate 10–20 products via AI or import, and set up a code prefix.
  2. Day 3–4: put together your e-shop in the editor, set up payments, shipping, and invoices.
  3. Day 5–6: Do a test broadcast where friends play customers. Test the comment, Messenger, and address completion.
  4. Day 7: Live broadcast. Then check the warehouse, reservations and recording.

If you don't know how to do something, write to obchod@nexusshopp.eu . We respond on weekdays within 24 hours and you can arrange a demonstration of the system directly on your products via contact . If you are a boutique, also see the Live sales for fashion and clothing page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a programmer for my own e-shop for live sales?

No. You create an e-shop in a visual editor by dragging blocks, you fill in products from a photo, Excel or supplier URL and order, the warehouse and invoices work after setup. Hosting, updates and backups are included in the rental, so you don't develop or manage anything.

How long does it take to start my first live broadcast with orders after launch?

It depends on the size of the catalog, but with 10–20 products you can do it in a few days. The recommended plan includes a live broadcast on the seventh day, after a test broadcast with friends. The trial version lasts 7 days free without a credit card.

Do you take commission on live sales orders?

No. You only pay a monthly rental fee in one of the Start, Professional or Enterprise packages. No commission is charged on orders. Hosting, updates, backups and support are included in the price. You can find the current packages in the price list.

Does ordering from comments also work on TikTok?

No. TikTok comments do not convert to orders. Orders from comments run on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. However, you can also broadcast to TikTok as part of a restream through NexusLive and sell to viewers on your own e-shop.
